Apple Orchard

The apple orchard: its origin and its future

The Gaztañaga cider is made with different apple varieties, from the local apple orchards they have. The family has 4 hectares of apple trees distributed throughout the Gipuzkoan orography and the choice of varieties and care for the apple orchard are decisive for the production of a high-quality product.

Different apple varieties!

We have 11 varieties of local apples in our orchards: acid, bitter and sweet: Patzolua, Moko, Saltxipi, Urdiña, Urtebi Handi, Urtebi Txiki and Txalaka, among others. These varieties authorized and endorsed by the Euskal Sagardoa Denomination of Origin are selected in Gaztañaga thanks to the knowledge and experience of the family. All of this makes Gaztañaga a cider of great quality and prestige.
